How to create a subdomain in cPanel
A subdomain lets you create a separate area of your website, such as blog.yourdomain.co.uk or staging.yourdomain.co.uk.
Steps
- Log in to cPanel.
- Open Domains.
- Click Create A New Domain or Subdomains, depending on your cPanel version.
- Enter the subdomain name.
- Check the document root folder.
- Save the change.
Document root
The document root is the folder where files for the subdomain live. For example, public_html/staging.
SSL
After creating a subdomain, allow AutoSSL time to issue a certificate if SSL is enabled on your hosting account.
