How often should I back up my website
General rule
Back up before updates and any major content change.
Suggested frequency
- Static brochure site: before changes and at regular intervals.
- Blog or news site: weekly or more often.
- Online shop or membership site: daily or specialist backup planning.
Keep copies off-server
Store important backups away from the hosting account so they are available even if the account has a problem.
