How to create a full account backup in cPanel

A full account backup contains your website files, databases, email forwarders, filters and account settings.

Steps

1. Log in to cPanel.
2. Open Backup or Backup Wizard.
3. Choose Full Backup.
4. Select the backup destination, usually Home Directory.
5. Enter an email address for completion notification.
6. Click Generate Backup.

Downloading the backup

Once complete, return to the backup page and download the generated archive.

Important

A full cPanel backup is mainly used for account restoration or migration. For normal website edits, you may only need file and database backups.
